In her presentation, Sina Hermann will discuss the latest steps taken by the German Museums Association towards sustainable practices. Topics include the climate protection guide, minimum standards for museums, recommendations for the establishment of a climate corridor and plans for a forthcoming certification programme for sustainable museums, which is expected to be introduced by the end of next year.

Museums and sustainable development: Aligning with the Global Goals
Henry McGhie, an expert from UK, will explore how museums can engage with sustainable development, focusing on the broader challenges addressed by frameworks such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His presentation will offer insights into how museums can contribute to global and local sustainability efforts, touching on issues such as climate action, social justice and peacebuilding. The host is the DAAD project "GreenMuseumHub: Sustainable Futures for Museums and Heritage Sites" of Helwan University in Cairo (Egypt), Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (Germany), and Université de la Manouba (Tunisia). As part of the project, several Tea & Coffee Lectures are held each year to collectively approach the topic of "Sustainability."
